I love this picture of Liam at our neighborhood halloween party. He is quite the actor, and loves to really immerse himself in his roles! :-)

Chicken

Saturday, September 15, 2007

It would be nice once in a while to be able to go out to eat with Liam and Colm without having to make sure they serve Mac&Cheese or Chicken Nuggets. We happened to be out running errands today and we passed by a Greek deli. Nina ran in and checked the menu. They did have chicken but the meat wasn’t breaded. There were howls of anguish from the backseat and calls for “AppleBees” or “RedRobin”. Frustrated, I gave my best face and said “Team, we’re going in!”

Needless to say, it did not go well. Liam refused to eat the chicken but I managed to get Colm to finish his lunch with promises of Greek desserts. Frustrated, later that evening I suggested to NIna, “That’s it, no more breaded chicken or Mac&Cheese”. So we took some advice from a friend who had used honey and provided chicken with a honey dip for dinner. Liam loved it! Let’s see how long this lasts.

Our budding violinist

Thursday, September 6, 2007

Liam has been taking Suzuki violin for more than 2 years now. I am really proud of him. This is a video from the spring playing during a practice session at home.

One of the more remarkable aspects of Liam’s playing ability at the age of five is the fact that he is left handed. Note that the order in which the strings are laid out typically means you need to play it right handed as he is doing.

Star Wars – A New Hope

Sunday, July 15, 2007

Liam is now five and so I felt he was old enough to introduce him to the Star Wars Trilogy. We waited until it was naptime for Colm and we played ‘A new hope’ on the XBox. You see we don’t have DVD players at home but rather XBox and PS2 players. Clever way to persuade the wife of a need for gaming I mean DVD player consoles. Liam enjoyed the movie. He wasn’t scared at all.

Garage cleaning

Sunday, July 15, 2007

We cleaned out the garage today. Liam and Colm were such great helpers. I was particularly impressed how Liam spent time organizing the tools in the tool boxes.

Memorial Weekend Part II

Monday, June 4, 2007

We totally forgot about the evening we were supposed to go to dinner with my parents. We had just had dinner on Saturday night when I got a call from my father asking when we would get there. So we rushed over, had some desert, and let the boys fish.

Liam was all smiles

Colm still had some dessert on his face

Pappa got out his RC boat for the boys to watch. However, the battery was low!

Memorial Weekend

Wednesday, May 30, 2007

We had a relaxing weekend. We saw some of the family and spent time together out and about. We also kept tabs on progress in our new home construction.

Colm loves Sprite

Liam is actually thinking “I hope Daddy let’s me play the Lego Star Wars II on the PS2 today”

Singing Happy Birthday to Liam

Monday, February 19, 2007

I recorded a video of the birthday boy. We sang happy birthday to him and he blew out his candles. He chose to have cheesecake squares for this birthday cake and they were delicious!
